The 6th APCTP-KAIST School for Brain Dynamics: Young Computational Neuroscientist Workshop (2011)
- Time : December 5, 2011 (Monday)
- Place : Daejeon Convention Center (DCC), Daejeon, South Korea
- Registration : Link
Scope
We have been organizing the "APCTP-KAIST school for Brain Dynamics" for
last 5 years from 2006 with generous support of APCTP and KAIST. As the
physical issues in data analysis and modeling are getting more significant,
an advanced approach based on nonlinear dynamics, statistical physics,
complex network analysis help understand the underlying spatiotemporal
dynamics of the brain and its applications to various neural engineering
fields, such as Brain-Computer Interface and Neural prosthetics. This
school has provided intensive reviews and valuable tutorials from prominent
experts in the field of physics and neuroscience, and offered the most up-
to-date computational and clinical findings and cutting-edge technologies
to graduate students and young researchers.
From 2011, we would like to modify the format of the school as a 'workshop
on brain dynamics focused on young scientists' in theoretical neuroscience
and related areas. We are supposed to provide well-organized oral
presentations with 11 young international researchers as following topics:
Single neuronal dynamics, Brain dynamics for resting states, Neural
population dynamics, Brain dynamics for Information processing, and Brain
dynamics for neuropsychiatric disorders. This workshop is organized to
share fundamental principles, methods, recent findings, and trends with
young researchers. We are looking forward to seeing you and having deep
discussion at the workshop.
